What others said…
Amazing! I couldn’t put it down! It became more gripping as the book progressed making it hard to set aside. I feel like I’ve been on a fast and thrilling adventure, filled with all sorts of emotion, then being hit with a fantastic ending which leaves you thinking.
Thank you Alan Reynolds, you are an amazing writer, versatile with the ability to keep the reader in an air of suspense and on the edge of their seat. You are, at times, very much like Charles Dickens with your ability to weave social, political and environmental injustice into your novels and raising their profile.

Entertaining! Horrifying! Revealing! Engrossing! I could go on and on, but you get the general idea. mixes the shady world of human trafficking with middle-class British day-to-day values and desires in a way that got this reader’s blood boiling. (I truly felt for the abductees!) Author Alan Reynolds is a master storyteller who whisks you from a nightclub in Albania to a porn factory in England, all the while bringing two diverse story-lines together in a genuinely “explosive” climax. (Bad deeds and deceit are like karmic boomerangs!) Pick up this “wild ride” of a thriller the next time you want to take your mind out for an evening of literary enjoyment … just watch where you leave those ever-entangling outer-garments.

Another superb book from Alan Reynolds. I found it difficult to put down and read it in a few sittings. As usual his attention to detail is realistic and makes for interesting reading. He researches his topics well. Highly recommended.

I have not placed a review before, but feel compelled to do so after reading The Coat.
The story follows the story of Keith and Kathryn local business owners and Edita and Delvina, sisters from Albania. Poles apart until a mix up with a coat interweaves their lives and changes them forever. A real page turner of a plot which saw me finish the book in 2 days. Not only a high standard of writing but what stands out is the depth of research that has gone into both topic and location – enabling a realistic journey into an underworld of kidnap, drugs, violence and sex, that seems to happen under our very nose.

My first Alan Reynolds book but definitely not my last. A fast paced story which had me gripped to the end. I loved the characters and learnt a lot about the seedy life of human trafficking in a manner which was very sensitive to the victims by not sexualising their exploitations. a thoroughly good read.

I absolutely loved this book, it takes you on a journey through the seedy underworld of female trafficking. It’s a fast paced thriller that you will not be able to put down. This has to be “the” best thriller I have ever read, I read this book in a day, one of those books you just had to read quickly to discover what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Alan Reynolds.
