Mark Swinford Photography, Leeds.
Robyn was born in the UK. When she was three months old, the family moved to Kenya where her Father became an Overseas Aid teacher in one of the upcountry villages.
Her memories include having to wash her clothes and bathe in the river during droughts. She and her friends caught fish in the local streams which they took to nearby huts to cook. She enjoyed the wonderful wildlife. Among her now fond memories she lists climbing up to a tree-house to be greeted by a new resident – a green, smiling snake.
The family returned to the UK in the 1980’s where Robyn gained a degree in healthcare at Leeds University. She went on to forge a successful career as a specialist nurse in cancer care.
Robyn loves cooking. However her repertoire only amounts to five dishes so far! She enjoys reading, travel and swimming with her son. And on a long to do list she includes spending more time on arts and crafts and learning to play guitar.
