The Adventures of Ginger Mclean

Adventures of Ginger Mclean

Author: Amy Hodgins

ISBN 978-1-906377-32-8

Dear Reader,

This book is all about me and the cruel world that I inhabit.

Ever since the reception class, I’ve stood out. I’d like to think this was because I am exceptionally funny, clever and stylish, but others say that it’s down to my CRAZY hair and big mouth. Whatever it is, I am definitely not to blame.

A LOT of people are jealous of me and that is why going to high school will be brilliant. I will meet much better people there who don’t wear pink leg warmers and glitter.

If it wasn’t for my best friend Frances and my she-hamster, Trevor, I don’t know how I’d put up with the madness. Frances gets me, even if she still wants to play princesses-get-chased-by-witch, and that’s a lot more than I can say for my stupid parents who insist on ruining my life with their stupid feuds.

If only I can stop being such a loser whenever Milo Costigan is around, perhaps it’ll all work out okay…

See you on the other side,

Ginger Mclean

What others say…

Absolultely brilliant…terrific material for TV serialisation… took me right back to my schooldays. It is tempting to say that this book is just for girls and appropriately so but I know lots of men who might have benefited had they read something like this when they were at school; they may just have discovered some of the secrets (and the madness!) within the complex mind of young ladies!
Janet Young

Great fun… I can just about remember going from primary school to secondary school and there are lots of moments in this book that made me laugh at similar things that happened to me at that age!! A perfect book for pre-teens and teenage girls – I will be getting a copy for my cousin Amelia who’s 10.
– Keeley edge

A really good book… you want to know what happens next. A very suitable read for a young lady – 10 to 14 years, I would think.
– Anne May

Loved this book, it brought back memories of of how being that age came with so many ‘problems’. It is written in a style that children will love and I am sure they will relate to Ginger well as I did.

I’m not sure how much I should’ve enjoyed reading Ginger, as a 30 year old bloke, but I was hooked from the beginning and can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next episode….! Great, easy read with lots of laugh out loud moments.
-Ben Allchin

Smashing book for both boys and girls. My son loved it. A sequel would be good…
in time for Christmas!
-RGS ‘Ruth’

A really fun and enjoyable easy read…a must for all pre-teens girls and women alike….roll on for her next crazy adventure.

Loved this book and can’t wait for the next instalment of Ginger Mclean.
Excellent read for all but especially children nearing or being in secondary school.
